Thank you for your interest in the East Anglia ME Patient Partnership (EAME).

EAME continues to work actively in the best interests of patients within the region.

Unfortunately, we are few in number and so website development has had to go by the board for the time being.

If you would like to help in the work of EAME or have any comments or questions, please use the contact form.

About the East Anglia ME Patient Partnership

Promoting collaboration and communication about all aspects of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) within East Anglia.

The East Anglia ME Patient Partnership group is an umbrella group with members representing local and national ME Support Groups from around the region.  Individual registration is open to ME sufferers, carers, healthcare and educational professionals.  It was formed to facilitate wide patient participation with health care providers and in particular, the Norfolk and Suffolk CFS/ME Service at the James Paget Hospital.

The East Anglia ME Patient Partnership's goals are to work closely with regional health, education and social support services, and both local and national government policy makers to;

  • Fight for the interests of people in East Anglia with ME,  their carers and families.
  • To inform and assist in the development of health, educational and support services for adults and children with ME.
  • To promote research into the organic causes of ME and potential cures.

Within the region, ME/CFS clinics are organised into services serving Peterborough & Cambridgeshire and the "Norfolk and Suffolk ME/CFS Service".  This latter clinic is the second largest of twelve Clinical Network Co-ordinating Centres in England for ME and has been established for many years.  It's approach is based on Dr Terry Mitchell's 20 year's experience of ME.  Dr Mitchell, who was a consultant haematologist before he developed an interest in ME, believes ME is often the result of an inappropriate response by the immune system.  Dr Mitchell has endorsed the Canadian Consensus document on ME.  The Consensus document can be viewed online (as a PDF document) or printed copies can be purchased from Invest in ME.
